Swedish car manufacturer, Volvo back to
being a leader in vehicle safety by introducing a system of "external
airbag".
"Volvo is Salvation", and vice
versa. Volvo is known for safety features in the car were abundant and always
in the forefront. In 2012 they present the airbag system for pedestrians in the
all-new Volvo V40. Now they are launching a new security system called
"The External Vehicle Protection" (EnVeloP), as reported by
worldcarfans.
This system consists of a compartment
which is above the car, which contains large air pockets that can be folded. In
the event of a collision, either with another car, object in the road or when
the car plunged into the water then this giant air bag in a flash will cover
all parts of the car to protect it.
The system is claimed to minimize damage
and injuries from the collision incident. "Over the years, we have seen
how to improve safety in our vehicles and airbags have played a central role in
the journey," says Thomas Broberg, safety technical advisor at Volvo Cars
Safety Centre.
"This new security feature is the
embodiment of the philosophy of Volvo. All that we do is to take a very literal
approach designed around you, "he added. "Instead of looking for
other parts of the car that can be infiltrated airbag system, we ask ourselves,
why not cover all parts of the car with airbags?" Said Thomas.
Volvo indeed masters over the affairs of
designing safety features in their car. Through this new system, they have
brought elements of road safety at a higher level.
