Mitsubishi Mirage Sport

Since its first appearance in Indonesia in 2012, featured car city Mitsubishi, Mirage has attracted much attention. Current population has reached more than 34,000 units with a market share of 14% in the last class in 2014. And earlier this year, PT. Krama Yudha Tiga Berlian Motors (KTB), as Agent licensee (APM) in Indonesia launched a refresher Mitsubishi Mirage and launch New Mirage Sport, to attract more consumers.

We had the opportunity to test this city car route from Jakarta to Bandung PP via Toll Jakarta - Cikampek - Padalarang. New Mirage Sport variant which we try a new variant that was developed with a base Mirage GLX. Which mebedakannya is sporty feel that there is at the Mirage Sport as a body kit and fog are now added Daytime Running Light (DRL). In addition Mirage Sport also gets Street Racing Stripes on the left and right sides, which distinguishes it from other Mirage variant. At the stern is also enhanced by the presence of a rear spoiler.
Beneath the hood, Mitsubishi still rely on the same machine with other Mirage, namely the 3-cylinder engine of 1.2 liter DOHC MIVEC that ejects power peak of 77 hp at 6,000 rpm and torque of 100 Nm at 4,000 rpm. Transmission also still rely on the type INVECS III CVT.

When entered into, the cabin feels airy Mirage Sport and luxurious look. In the middle of the dashboard panel is now added chrome shades, following the changes obtained by the New Mirage. In addition to chrome accents, other changes were found among other transmission position indicator lights and dual SRS airbags are now present in all variants of the New Mirage.

As a city car, the dimension Mirage Sport makes it able to maneuver swiftly in dense city traffic. Moreover, the character of 3-cylinder engine combined with a CVT transmission makes swift responsiveness in the face of a typical traffic stop and go. However, the next challenge is a matter of driving the New Mirage is heading out of town field across diverse paths and higher speeds.

It turns out that the challenge can be answered by the New Mirage. Although when crossing the long climbs on the road Cipularang, it presents a CVT transmission medium that is not how responsive acceleration while low round, but needed a solution that has been available. Simply slide the gear lever to position 'B' then the necessary acceleration can be more readily available.

Problem driving, New Mirage presents a fairly soft damping thanks to the soft suspension. Traversing holes and Speedtrap on the highway feels smooth, even so, if the drive itself, body roll is quite noticeably when turning sharply. However, when traveling back from Bandung to Jakarta, with filled three adults and a bag in the trunk, New Mirage Sport presents a control that feels solid when driving fast.

Upon arrival in Jakarta, the screen Multi Information Display (MID) fuel consumption New Mirage Sport recorded 20.6 km / liter. A number of very seductive about the efficiency of the offer, but it needs to be proved further.
